Mission Raftaar: Delhi to Mumbai time to travel reduced to 10 hours!

If you’re a frequent traveler of Delhi to Mumbai by train, be excited. With Mission Raftaar in place, Delhi to Mumbai time to travel will be reduced to 10 hours. As Delhi to Mumbai Rajdhani Express time is getting a speed boost, the time to travel is reducing.

Western Railways has confirmed that Delhi to Mumbai time to travel will be reduced by 5.5 hours. Since Rajdhani train speed will be increased from 130 kmph to 160 kmph, this change is happening.

Western Railways on 21st August has tweeted about it. They said, “After approval of the Central Govt, Mumbai – Delhi route will be upgraded to run Rajdhani Express at 160 kmph to cut the travel time to nearly 10 hrs, under #MissionRaftaar”.

Under its 100-day action plan, Indian Railways reduced Delhi to Howrah and Delhi to Mumbai time to travel. Mission Raftaar was first announced in the Railways Budget 2016-17. The mission targets the doubling of the average speed of trains. This will increase the speed of all non-suburban passenger trains by 25 kmph in the next five years.

For this particular project under Mission Raftaar to reduce Delhi to Mumbai time to travel, estimated time is of completion is 4years.
