Ford and Lincoln will Make Android Cars from 2023

Ford and Lincoln have recently announced their partnership with Google and are going to use Android Automotive to power the infotainment system in their vehicles from 2023. Ford also said that they are going to use Google’s Cloud services to process data, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. Ford and Lincoln drivers after the integration will be able to use all third party permissions with Google Assistant, Google Maps, and many other applications, car owners will be able to access these services without Android phones.

Jim Farley, president, and CEO of Ford said, “We are obsessed with creating must-have, distinctively Ford products and services…This integration will unleash our teams to innovate for Ford and Lincoln customers while seamlessly providing access to Google’s world-class apps and services”. Also, the system will be compatible with CarPlay so iPhone users will be able to use it with ease.
