Google Removed Apps from Play Store
These apps were first identified by White Ops Security. According to the cybersecurity firm, these 38 apps bombard phones with different irrelevant apps and try to open unsafe links in web browsers. Most of the apps on the list were selfie cameras and filters. White Ops sent the report about these apps, and Google took swift action by removing these apps. However, some of these apps were very harmful as they also used to prevent the user from uninstalling the app by hiding the icon.
According to White Ops, 17 of these apps had more than half a million downloads. These apps trick Google during the publishing process of Play Console.
