Display

Mi Band 4 (Left)
Honor Band 5 (Right)

Let’s start with the screen first. Both Mi Band 4 and Honor Band 5 comes with a 0.95″ color AMOLED Display, which produces excellent colors and improves the sunlight visibility.

On the other hand, the Huawei Band 4 comes with a slightly bigger 0.96″ TFT LCD. Huawei also offers a color display, but this time, its LCD, not an AMOLED, it’ll impact the battery life too. So, for the display, all three bands are good, but keep in mind that Huawei Band 4 comes with an LCD. The display on all the bands is a touchscreen, and there is a touch button just below the screen.

Battery Life

The battery life is another area of focus for the fitness bands. The Mi Band continues its legacy and provides up to 20 days of battery life with the 135mAh battery. While the Honor Band 5 will last for around 12-15 days, and the Huawei comes the last because it has a 91mAh battery with an LCD. Huawei claims nine days of battery life, which is not a bad thing at all. For the charging, Honor, and Xiaomi offers Pogo Pins charger while the Huawei Band 4 comes with a convenient built-in USB.

Sensors

A 3-axis accelerometer and Heart rate sensor are present on all the bands. Huawei and Honor offer an Infrared wear sensor while the Mi Band 4 comes with a gyroscope and a proximity sensor. There is not a huge difference when it comes to sensor implementation. None of them supports NFC in India.

Features

Honor Band 5

Talking about the features, all three bands are almost the same. You can track different activities, including sleeping, steps, running, and other sports activities. The accuracy is more or less similar among them. Mi Band 4 misses out the SpO2, which measures the Blood Oxygen level.

All three of them will show short notifications from Whatsapp and other apps as well as there is a call notification function available.

Customization

If you are someone who likes to customize everything and the Mi Band 4 seems like a better choice for you. You can customize the Watch Face on all the three bands. However, Mi Band 4 also supports third-party faces, and third party straps available with which you can customize your band.

Water-Resistant

So, the Mi Band 4 and Honor Band 5 are 5ATM Water-resistant, which means up to 50 meters. While Huawei Band 4 is also water-resistant but there is no information available.

Which one should you buy?

Mi Band 4 (Rs. 2,299) and Honor Band 5 (Rs. 2,399) offer excellent value for the asking price. They both have similar features, and there is not such a difference in the price. However, if your budget is 2k and you want a color fitness band, then Huawei Band 4 is another good option. It lacks an AMOLED display, and the battery life is not the best. Still, it offers excellent functionality, and the overall package is good.
