People will find physical Snapcodes placed at the landmark or you can use Lens creator’s profile to find the new custom landmarker lens on Snapchat. Sounds exciting, right? In this post, we will discuss Landmarker lens- Snapchat’s new feature to create AR experiences.

Everything You Need to Know About Landmarker Lens Snapchat

Snapchat is continuously improving its AR platform to preserve its position as a pioneer in AR development. And this new world lens will empower over 250,000 Lens developers to create new experiences. So, users will learn and explore in a more fun way.

According to Snapchat, in 2019 they launched Landmarkers, which are blueprints of 30 beloved locations from across the globe that developers may build on. Also, the AR creative community has an endless number of locations to create location-based lenses.

Snap’s Lens Network members had the first experience with the custom landmarker lens. Most of them have already started launching AR experiences in their communities.

Snapchat moderates AR material on its platform to accomplish this. Therefore, all Lenses must be approved by its moderation staff before they can be made public.

Snap is also creating its own AR-enabled glasses, which will make the experience much more lucrative and entertaining soon. People will soon be able to view your new AR designs and features just by glancing at your storefront in AR. You may also show special discounts, items, and more.

It may not be a priority for many businesses right now, but it might become a much more important feature in the future. That’s why Snap is wise to seize the opportunity now and provide new opportunities to create in AR.

How to Create AR Experiences on Landmarks in Snapchat?

Snapchat custom Landmarker lens will allow you to design your own AR effects for any place. So you could develop an AR graphic on your shop brand or use AR to convey your brand voice.

That, of course, requires a certain amount of technological know-how. You can also collaborate with a Snap developer to create a personalized AR experience. It gives you even another option to communicate with your audience.

With the available Landmarker Template, you can build one-of-a-kind Lens experiences at certain sites throughout the globe. The template shows how to use Landmarker tracking (for monitoring the actual location’s landmark) to build a 3D experience. It will be closely tied to the architecture of the area. It also has debugging capabilities, allowing you to test your lenses without having to be present in the area.

Lens Studio Locations for Custom Landmarker

There are five Lens Studio sites across the globe.

  • Buckingham Palace- London.
  • Eiffel Tower- Paris, France
  • New York City’s Flatiron Building
  • TCL Chinese Theater in California.
  • United States Capitol in Washington, D.C.

There is a template for each place. Choose the Landmarker templates for the sites on which your Lens will be based.

You need to select the Location Tracking preview video for your selected Landmarker in the Preview section. Flip the camera to the rear camera if you don’t see the preview videos. The tracking data required to recreate the experience of being at the place is provided by these preview options. The template also includes debugging capabilities that give you greater flexibility over how you preview your lenses. You may make your own custom Landmarker Lens on Snapchat by combining 2D and 3D information.

So, that’s all for today! Enjoy AR experiences in landmarks on Snapchat.
