Step 2: Locate the folder ‘HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE’, expand it then seek for ‘SOFTWARE’.

Step 3: Now expand as follows, Policies -> Microsoft -> Windows -> Windows Search. You might not have the folder named Windows Search.

Step 4: If you are not having the folder then create a new one by right-clicking on Windows -> New -> Key. Name it Windows Search.

Step 5: Now Right-Click on the Windows Search folder and select New. But this time select the ‘DWORD (32-bit) Value’ and name it ‘AllowCortana’

Step 7: Now restart your PC, once restarted, you will see that Cortana is now disabled.

Group Policy Editor (Windows 10 Pro Only)

Step 1: Open the Run box by pressing Win+R and search for ‘gpedit.msc’ then hit enter.

Step 2: Navigate to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Search. Here in the right pane seek for ‘Allow Cortana’ and double click to edit it.
