We all love to post Instagram Stories but whenever anyone replies to it, we just get lots of DM notifications, right? So, now Instagram has unveiled a new method to interact with Stories. They have launched a new feature called Instagram Private Story Likes. This Instagram story reactions update enables users to like other people’s Instagram Stories without sending a DM. Previously, people could only reshare or respond to them by leaving a message. Therefore, our inboxes used to become full of comments on an Instagram Story. With Instagram Private Story Likes feature, you can now like Stories similar to Facebook. In this post, we will discuss how to react to Instagram stories without sending a DM. Instagram CEO announced the new feature’s launch through video on Twitter. Stay tuned!

Private Story Likes Feature: New Instagram Story Reactions

Like a standard feed post, you may now like a story by tapping the heart symbol. Between the Send Message option and the sharing symbol for sending a reply, there will be a Like button. The Private Story Likes feature will not show the like counts as regular postings. You can check it on the viewer sheet.

“So now, when you walk through Stories, there will be a heart symbol between sending a message and that little paper aircraft,” Mosseri said. And if you tap it, you will send a Like to that user. This will appear on the viewer sheet rather than in your DM chat with them.”

The new functionality is released to enhance the app’s texting experience. Last year, Mosseri indicated the app will concentrate more on communications. They will work on controls to increase transparency and the company’s overall objectives for 2022.

You will not see a public count on Stories. So, how to check who has liked your Stories? Look at the viewer sheet (a list of individuals who viewed it).

How Can You Check Private Story Likes And Who Liked Your Stories?

The viewer sheet displays the “Like” on your Instagram Story. To open the viewer sheet, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Instagram app on your phone (update it to make sure you have the latest version)
  2. In the upper left corner, click the Story option.
  3. Other users’ profile picture icons will appear. It shows that someone has watched your Instagram Story.
  4. To discover who has watched stories, tap on the icons. Swipe up from the bottom to reveal the names of the viewers.
  5. You’ll see a heart next to someone’s name if they have given a Like.

Besides the Instagram story reactions updates, there are a lot of newly released features. Users may bulk remove or archive all of their material, including posts, Stories, IGTV, and Reels. Also, hide their interactions, such as comments, likes, and story sticker responses. In the Your Activity area of Instagram, users may also filter their material and interactions by date and search for prior comments, likes, and story responses from a certain period range.
