We all know the importance of Huawei’s U.S Ban, it brought some major changes to the company as multiple companies started breaking down their relationships with Huawei but Huawei shows that it has no significant importance on them. The biggest affect that Huawei had with the U.S ban is, breakdown of Google Services in their smartphones, but soon after the U.S Ban was over we could see Google going down soft on Huawei, but this change made Huawei make significant and faster progress on their own OS reportedly called the ‘HongmengOS’, but after which the plan to launch it by the end of 2019 was dropped.

Now, in a interview with Economic Times, Huawei’s and Honor’s CEO states,”We have our own HMS and are trying to build a mobile ecosystem. Most of the key apps such as navigation, payments, gaming and messaging will be ready by December end.” This was in response to creating a alternative to the GMS (“Google Media Services”) where GMS includes apps and services like Gmail, YouTube and more.

Huawei is in talks with India’s Top 150 App Developers to create an complete alternative to Google provided services which includes YouTube, Maps, Play Games and lot more in their new app named Huawei App Gallery (an app similar to the Google’s Play Store), on a not the company also confirmed that the next Honor smartphone will indeed come with GMS and will run all Google Apps and Services. This seems to be a big move by Huawei and may come out to be similar to iOS.

Huawei and Honor have seen impressive growth in the last few years in India and according to a roadmap released previously, the company aims at getting a 10 per cent market share in 2020. There has been no info yet on the ‘HongmengOS’, but it will soon be there. Stay tuned to TechBurner for more information.
