Indian Government Assumes the Right to Block Digital News Content

Under the purview IT Act of Section 69(A), now digital news media has been brought under the control of the Indian government. This will be applied to the foreign media covering stories from India. Ravi Shankar Prasad, Minister of IT said that it can’t be that you sit in America and don’t address local grievances.

It will allow the Indian government to issue the directions for blocking and access by the public any information. Moreover, they added that if the government believes that the content will be a threat to the right to block digital news content along with a new set of regulations.
