The budget phones of Xiaomi’s flagship Mi-series are hugely popular among consumers. We have seen some excellent smartphones in the Mi-A series. The Mi A1 and Mi A2 both have a fantastic camera setup for the price and time they were launched at. However this is not the only thing that makes them popular among consumers, it’s the stock Android. Yes, the Mi A1 and Mi A2 are the only Xiaomi phones that don’t come with the Ads-filled heavy MIUI skin. These features make us the most excited about the next smartphone of Mi A series, the Mi A3. In this article, we will talk about possible Mi A3 leaks. Read the full article to find out about Mi A3 price.
Mi 9X Leaked Specifications
A report by GizmoChina suggested that the Xiaomi Mi 9X could come with a 6.4″ AMOLED display with COF (Chip-On-Flex) packaging tech & a waterdrop notch screen embedded with a fingerprint scanner. The phone is supposed to be powered by a Snapdragon 675 which also powers the Redmi Note 7 Pro. The Xiaomi Mi 9X will also come in 4GB and 6GB variants.
Switching to the camera section, Mi 9X will have a triple rear camera setup like the Mi 9 which includes 48-MP primary camera with an 8-MP depth sensor and a 13-MP super wide-angle lens. The Xiaomi Mi 9X will have a 32-MP front camera for selfies inside the waterdrop notch.
The Xiaomi Mi 9X will probably come with a 3300mAh battery which is disappointing but also includes 18W Quick Charge 4.0+ support. The Mi 9X is said to run on MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie.
Could MI 9X be the MI A3?
Since Mi 6X was launched as Mi A2 in India, Mi 9X could launch as the Mi A3. Mi 9X has some features similar to what we have seen on Redmi Note 7 Pro except that super-wide angle lens and a smaller battery. As we know Redmi Note 7 Pro has the best camera in the segment right now, with that extra wide angle lens Mi A3 will open up a new level for photography on a mid-range smartphone.
MI A3 Expectations
Let’s just assume that Mi 9X doesn’t come to India as the Mi A3. What should we expect from the next generation of the MI-A series? Let’s check it out with reference to the Mi A2 and other siblings.
DISPLAY
The Display on the Mi A2 was a little bit of old fashioned for the time it was launched at. It had an 18:9 aspect ratio while MI A2 Lite (Redmi 6 Pro in India) had a 19:9 aspect ratio. Mi A3 should have a waterdrop notch or a punch hole display to make up for the Mi A2’s display. An In-display fingerprint scanner could be feasible but would definitely increase the cost.
CAMERA
Mi A2 has a dual lens 20+12MP setup on the back and 20MP on the front. Mi A2 has a good camera performance but there is still room for improvement. A Triple Camera with a new wide angle lens would do justice to the optics of the Mi A3.
PROCESSOR
Mi A2 runs on a Snapdragon 660, Redmi Note 7 Pro has a Snapdragon 675 and Realme 3 Pro is rumored to have a Snapdragon 710. It is fair to assume that the Mi A3 will have a better processor probably Snapdragon 710 or 712 and not a 675.
BATTERY
The Mi A2 is powered by a rather small 3000 mah battery which is probably the only weak point about the device. The Mi A3 should have a bigger battery like its sibling Redmi Note 7 Pro which has 4000 mah of juice to power it.
MI A3 PRICE & LAUNCH DATE
The Mi A3 price expected should be around Rs.16999 for the low-end variant and Rs.18999 for the higher end variant. The Mi A3 is expected to launch in Q2 of 2019.
