MIUI has been one of the most versatile UI. And many of the users like it and some hate it due to advertisements even in the flagship level devices. There are mixed views around the world on MIUI and other UIs. Moreover, this time Xiaomi has come up with its successor version as MIUI 14. MIUI 14 is finally available for Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco users after much anticipation and a last-minute delay. So without any further delay let’s head into the article and discuss what’s new, and which devices will get MIUI 14.

MIUI 14 Features

Users of Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco may now download MIUI 14 after much waiting and a last-minute delay. The changelog for each new MIUI version usually lists kernel-level improvements to the CPU and GPU’s operation as well as smaller system firmware sizes and reduced memory use.

Furthermore, Xiaomi claims that MIUI 14 is 60% smoother than its predecessor on devices such as the China-only Xiaomi 12S Ultra. Please keep in mind that not all Xiaomi phones will have the same performance difference. Other changes include automatic compression for infrequently used apps and the ability to disable annoying persistent notifications (the ones that cannot be swiped away).

The company also lets users uninstall more core apps than ever before. There are only eight system apps that cannot be uninstalled. The most recent updates include widgets with flower and animal themes, as well as customizable folders that allow larger icons, like those we saw on the Nothing Phone 1 earlier this year.

The latter may or may not be present in the universal version of the software. Other features include enhanced text recognition and the merging of duplicate files.

Furthermore, Xiaomi asserts that end-to-end encryption and local data processing have increased privacy. It is also simple to connect to other Xiaomi devices and accessories thanks to a new control centre toggle. The software’s family features now allow users to share images and subscriptions with up to nine individuals in the Chinese edition.

MIUI 14 Devices List

Later this week, on December 14, the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro will be the first devices to receive MIUI 14. Nevertheless, several other phones will also receive the software update. According to Xiaomi’s official update timetable, the MIX Fold 2 and the whole 12 series will both receive updates in January 2023. Around the same time, the Redmi K50 series will also receive the update.
