OnePlus Z: A Revamped Version Of OnePlus X

The OnePlus 8 series is around the corner, and the leaked specs of this flagship series are excited. However, this year we are going to witness another midrange smartphone from OnePlus, named OnePlus Z. It will be a successor to the OnePlus X, don’t know where the “Y” is. We have heard rumoured about the OnePlus 8 Lite in the past few months and now a new report suggests that the OnePlus 8 Lite will be very well called OnePlus Z. OnePlus Z: A New Mid-range Smartphone

The Tipster Max Weinbach claims that the upcoming midrange smartphone from the OnePlus will be called OnePlus Z. It is the revamped version of OnePlus X that was launched in 2015. OnePlus 8 Lite specs and renders were leaked before, and it is the OnePlus Z. So, let’s have a look at expected OnePlus Z specs.

Display & Battery

Previously leaked specs of OnePlus 8 Lite, (now OnePlus Z) suggest that the phone will have a 6.4″ FHD+ AMOLED display. It will also come with a 90Hz high refresh rate panel. The renders also show a punch-hole in the middle of the display while the OnePlus 8/Pro has a punch-hole on the left side of the display. Unlike the OnePlus flagships, this will have a flat-screen. Talking about the battery capacity, it is expected to come with a 4,000mAh battery with a 30W fast charger. We will see wireless charging support on the OnePlus 8 Pro, but the Z won’t include that.

Camera

OnePlus Z will include a triple camera setup on the back. We can expect a 48MP Primary sensor along with a 16MP Ultrawide angle lens a 12MP telephoto lens. While there are no words on the front camera, we are expecting it to be a 12MP shooter.

Performance & Software

OnePlus Z will be powered by a 5G Chipset By MediaTek, Dimensity 1000 to be precise. By using a MediaTek chipset, OnePlus could provide an affordable 5G experience. Talking about the software, we will get OxygenOS on top of Android 10.

OnePlus Z Price in India

OnePlus Z is going to be an affordable offering by OnePlus. After the OnePlus X, it is the second midrange smartphone the company. While there is no confirmation on the pricing, we are expecting USD 399 for the base variant which roughly converts to 30k rupees.

OnePlus Z Launch Date in India

OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro is all set to launch on the 14th of April. However, OnePlus Z will launch later this year. It is expected to launch in July 2020.
