Qualcomm Introduced World’s First 5G Modem with Up to 10Gbps Wireless Speed

Qualcomm introduced its fourth generation 5G modems which are the world’s first modems to offer 110Gbps wireless speed. That’s the Qualcomm X65 there is also a more affordable Qualcomm X62 modem. These new modems are based on 3GPP Release 16 which is branded as 5G Phase 2. Qualcomm also says the upgradable architecture of these modems, meaning software updates of these modems can enable more 5G features in the future.

The peaks download speed of X65 is 10Gbps using an impressive 1,000MHz bandwidth. Meanwhile, the peak download speed of X62 is 4.6Gbps and 400MHz. The X65 and X62 are designed to work with a new QTM545 mmWave antenna and they can transmit at a higher power than the previous designs and support all global mmWave frequencies, including the brand new n259 band (41Hz). Qualcomm has developed the world’s first AI antenna tuning technology that can detect handgrip more accurately by 30%.
