Talking about the quad-camera both the phone packs a macro lens, a wide-angle lens, and a portrait lens. Let’s now have a look at the Realme 5 Camera Samples. Spoiler alert! Realme 5 Pro Quad Camera Samples are very impressive! Check out Realme Quad Camera Champions!

Realme 5 Camera Specifications

So, the Realme 5 packs a 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor with an aperture of f/1.8. The wider aperture can help to capture better photos in low light scenarios because more amount of light comes in. You will find f/1.8 written below the primary lens. The second sensor is a wide-angle lens, and the resolution is 8MP. The third lens is something new, a 2MP Macro lens helps to capture small objects and the fourth sensor is a 2MP depth sensor, Reame calls it a portrait lens. All the 4 camera lenses are present vertically on the left side of the phone. A 13MP selfie shooter is present in the waterdrop or dewdrop notch. On the video side of thing, Realme 5 can shoot 720p, 1080p and 4K videos.

Realme 5 Pro Camera Specifications

The only major camera difference between Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro is of the primary lens. Realme 5 Pro comes with everyone’s favourite 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor. The other three sensors are similar in both of these smartphones. The selfie camera of 5 Pro is of 16MP.

Camera User Interface

The camera user interface is typical Realme style with some addition. You can select Video, Photo, Portrait, Macro mode from the bottom bar. You can toggle on/off the flashlight from the top bar. The HDR mode is also present there. The third option is new and it is a wide-angle mode. the Chroma Boost is present just below the Wideangle mode and then there are few filters.

The Settings menu is present on the top right corner. Head over to settings to turn on/off the Realme Quad Camera Watermark which you will see in the Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro camera samples here.

Realme 5 Camera Samples

Okay, so let’s jump into the camera samples. We are sharing Realme 5 Camera samples using different modes.

Macro Shots

Realme has added a new kind of lens in its quad-camera setup. The macro lens is not usually found in budget devices. The resolution is only 2MP but it captures good details of macro subjects. The main benefit of the macro lens is that you can take your phone very close to the subject. The image quality seems decent. We can not expect much sharpness in the macro lens.

Just look at the below image. The first image was shot using the Macro lens while the second image was captured with the primary lens. We can see a significant difference.

Wide Angle Lens

The following images are taken with the 8MP wide-angle lens. Addition of a wide-angle lens is always welcome because it allows us to capture a lot more in the frame. The image quality of the wide-angle lens is also pretty good in our opinion. The sharpness of the image is not as good as the primary lens. Also, we can clearly see the color shifting. The wide-angle lens captures a bit washed out colors sometimes. But the overall image quality is impressive.

Portrait Mode

The portrait images taken with the Realme 5 are really impressive. The skin tones are natural and the detail level is great. Plus this time the edge detection seems on point. In good lighting conditions, the portrait images turnouts very nice. We also like the blurring algorithm, it does not look like the artificial blur. The exposure is also well balanced in the background. Well, done Realme!

Outdoor Samples

Realme 5 captures excellent photos in good lighting conditions. The photos are sharp and we did not face any issue while focusing on the subject. One area we are really impressed is in terms of saturation level. Most of the Realme smartphones have a tendency to over saturate the image even when the chroma boost is off. This time around Realme has done quite a good job to optimize the saturation level of the images. Most of the photos taken with the Realme 5 looks pleasing to the eyes. The images look well exposed and the dynamic range is pretty nice. Check out some samples.

Front Camera Samples

The 13MP selfie shooter captures a decent selfie. We like the skin tones and the sharpness of the selfies. However, the dynamic range is not that great. It overexposes the sky sometimes. Overall it captures good selfies.

Realme 5 Pro Camera Samples

Let’s now have a look at the Realme 5 Pro Camera samples. As we mentioned above the only major difference between both these smartphones is of the primary lens. The performance of other sensors is equally good on both. Check out camera samples of the second Realme Quad Camera smartphone.

Portrait Mode

The portrait shots taken with the Realme 5 Pro is way better than the Realme 5. We really like the skin tones. The edge detection seems on point and better than the Realme 5. The details of the background are preserved very well. The images taken with the Realme 5 Pro looks vibrant and pleasing to the eyes.

Macro Shots

The 2MP Macro lens captures very good macro shots. The below images are taken with the macro lens on Realme 5 Pro. It is very useful when the subject is very small.

Wide Angle Samples

The ultra-wide-angle lens capture 1.5x in the frame. The 119 degrees of field of view helps to create a different perspective. The image quality of the wide-angle is lens is very good. Even the dynamic range is impressive. It does not blown-out highlights. The colors are not as eye-catchy as the primary lens still the photos looks pleasing to the eyes.

Daylight Samples

Sony IMX586 is a great sensor we all know that. Realme has done good optimization here to produce excellent photos. No oversaturation is going on and it makes the photos look natural. The depth of field is nice here.

Indoor Samples

Photos taken in indoor lighting conditions are also bright and noise-free. The sharpness level reduces in low lighting condition.

Front Camera Samples

The 16MP front camera captures decent selfies. The skin tones are nice and the sharpness level is good. However, same as the Realme 5 the dynamic range of the selfie camera is not impressive and hence the sky is blown out. Portrait mode in selfie camera works fine but it overexposes the background.

Verdict: Quad Camera Champions

Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro are definitely very impressive camera-centric smartphones. The addition of a wide-angle lens and a macro lens is a welcome change. We have seen so many smartphones with the Sony IMX586 sensor and Realme 5 Pro performs equally good. Both the smartphones offer one of the best camera performance in their respective price segments. We miss the telephoto lens. Both smartphones capture very good daylight photos, wide-angle photos are brighter and sharp, we enjoyed using the macro lens and the portrait works fine. However, the front camera is not the best, it clicks decent selfies.

That’s our first impression about the Realme Quad Camera Champions! What do you think about the image quality, let us know in the comment section below.
