Premium Design
Realme X2 Pro is a beautiful looking smartphone. It is protected by Gorilla Glass 5 on the front as well as back which gives it a premium touch. The back panel looks identical to the Realme XT. However, the Quad camera setup is centrally aligned on the X2 Pro. The headphone jack is present and so the USB Type-C port. The power button is present on the right while the volume rockers are present on the left side which are tactile. Dual SIM tray is present on the right side which lacks the microSD card slot. The phone weight around 199 grams which is not the lightest but the weight distribution is good so we did not face any issue while using the device.
Smooth Display
A 6.5″ FHD+ AMOLED display is beautiful. It produces punchy vibrant colours and deep black like all other AMOLED displays. It is HDR10+ certified. Realme X2 Pro has a small waterdrop notch on top, which might be a downside for a few people. Other flagships like OnePlus 7 Pro offers a full view display with the help of pop-up camera mechanism but Realme has gone with a notch which is tiny so no issue. 2019 is the year of High refresh rate displays and Realme has joined the “Team Smooth Display.” The 90Hz refresh rate on the Realme X2 Pro feels super smooth. We can’t explain it in words but using a high refresh rate display is always feels good and smooth. The display is bright enough for outdoor visibility. Realme has done quite a good job here in the display department.
Flagship Performance
Realme has nailed the specs sheet. The greatest Snapdragon 855+ processor along with the faster UFS 3.0 storage and up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM makes this smartphone flagship in all scenarios. Not just on the specs sheet but in our real-world usage we are impressed with the performance. Switching between apps is smooth, no issues in multitasking and the entire user interface is fluid all thanks to the 855+ and the smooth display. We faced no issue in the heavy task including Gaming. PUBG runs on extreme settings and we didn’t face any frame drop. With the 128GB and 256GB variants, you get the UFS 3.0 storage which helps to improve the performance. The company has configured its first flagship smartphone quite good.
The in-display fingerprint sensor is one of the fastest we have ever seen. It unlocks the phone in less than a second which is impressive.
Insane 50W Charger
Realme X2 Pro has a pretty decent 4,000mAh battery which can easily last for the entire day on a single charge. But the entire battery charges in just around 30 minutes! Yes, you head it right. The 50W SuperVOOC flash charger charges the 4,000mAh battery of Realme X2 Pro in 30 minutes which is just insane, Even flagship smartphones out there don’t charge at this speed. Check out our dedicated video on the charging speed.
Impressive 64MP Quad Camera
Realme X2 Pro has a quad-camera setup and the primary sensor is a 64MP one. We have seen this sensor on the Realme XT in the past which performs very well. The camera setup includes an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens with an aperture of f/2.2, a 13MP 2x telephoto lens (f/2.5) and 2MP dedicated depth sensor (f/2.4). Realme has done very good optimization in the camera department. It does not oversaturate the images which are a good sign. You can capture macro shots with the help of Ultrawide angle lens. The 13MP telephoto lens can shoot up to 20x digitally zoomed images.
Realme X2 Pro Camera Samples
The primary 64MP camera captures some nice looking shots. The frame is well exposed in most of the scenarios and the dynamic range seems pretty nice. The Ultrawide angle lens can be used to capture photos from a different perspective. However, there is some colour shifting going on while switching between apps but that is normal at this price point. The wide-angle lens produces good photos but it lacks some details compared to the primary lens.
The 2x telephoto lens can capture up to 20x hybrid zoom. Check out the samples below and as you can see 5x photo looks sharp and well exposed. Even the 20x zoom helps in some scenarios.
Instead of the dedicated Macro lens, the Ultrawide angle lens of the Realme X2 Pro can be used to capture macro shots. You can go up to 2.5cms closer to the subject which helps in capturing tiny objects. The detail level is not the best but usable.
The 16MP selfie camera unit is very impressive. Skin tones are natural and the dynamic range is again good. Even the edge detection of the selfie portrait is on point. Realme has done quite a good job here. Rear camera portrait looks very good. The subject on focus is well detailed and the background blur looks natural.
Realme X2 Pro can shoot up to 4K 60fps videos. Alongside 960fps super slow-motion videos and super steady mode. There is an option to shoot portrait videos which comes handy in some scenarios.
Usual ColorOS Interface
On the software side of thing, it runs on ColorOS 6.1 based on Android 9.0 Pie. We have mixed feelings about ColorOS. The UI is not very well defined, icons and notification panel does not look that good. But on the flip side, ColorOS is very fast and responsive. It is worth mentioning here that the Realme X2 Pro has the fastest ColorOS we have ever experienced. With the Snapdragon 855+ and 90Hz fluid display, everything feels fast and responsive. Beta testing of ColorOS 7 will also start soon which is said to be closer to Stock Android.
Dual Stereo Speakers
Realme X2 Pro offers immersive audio experience. The primary speaker is present at the bottom. The earpiece double ups as a speaker to provide dual stereo speakers experience. It also has Dolby Atmos. The sound output is quite good, the vocals are nice and the bass level is impressive. We have tested many devices but the sound output on realme X2 pro is better than many of the flagship devices. We are really impressed with the sound output. Also, you will get to see the 3.5mm Audio Jack on the bottom of the phone. Sound output from the 3.5 mm is backed up by Dolby Atoms and its impressive too. Good News, realme X2 Pro Dolby supports on wireless earbuds too. Since realme is working on its new Realme True Wireless Buds too.
Good Pricing
Realme has not launched the 6GB RAM Variant in India and the base variant starts at 30k which offers 8+128GB configuration. The top-end model 12+256GB costs 34k rupees. Red Brick and Concrete Master Edition cost 35k. In our opinion, the pricing is very good if not aggressive. OnePlus 7T offers almost the same specs at rupees 38k.

Verdict: Should you buy Realme X2 Pro?
Realme X2 Pro offers the fastest processor, fastest charging speed, fastest In-display fingerprint sensor and one of the smoothest displays alongside the great camera and audio experience. If this is something that really interests you then at the starting price of rupees 30,000, you can’t find any better deal than this. The base variant is an easy recommendation for everyone who wants to experience flagship at an affordable price. However, it still comes with Android Pie and ColorOS which is not really impressive. But the new ColorOS 7 is arriving very soon. If you are not okay with the Software then wait for a few days until the company unveils the ColorOS 7. The 64MP Quad camera is impressive still it’s behind the other flagship smartphones. Having said that, Realme X2 Pro is a very good offering by Realme.
