Design and Display
Redmi 7A was a good looking smartphone from the front as well as back, The back panel was made out of polycarbonate and Redmi 8A will also come with a polycarbonate back panel. But the curved back panel will help to grip the phone easily and it will improve the in-hand feel. Redmi calls it Aura Wave Grip Design. The company somehow managed to add Redmi branding on the bottom chin.
The biggest upgrade will be in terms of display. Redmi 7A has an 18:9 smaller 5.45″ HD+ Display with top and bottom bezels. While the Redmi 8A features a bigger 6.22″ Waterdrop display with comparatively smaller bezels. However, the resolution will be the same HD+ which is quite acceptable at this price point. Battery capacity is the second big upgrade. Redmi 8A will be powered by a massive 5,000mAh battery compared to 4,000mAh on 7A. Not just that, it comes with USB Type-C port for charging and data transfer. Redmi 8A supports 18W fast charging. You will get a 10W charger in the box.
