Xiaomi recently launched its budget smartphone under the Redmi brand called Redmi Y3. Redmi Y series is focussed on bringing great selfie camera at a budget-friendly price range. Display and Design
Redmi Y3 has polycarbonate back with gradient finish. It has a 6.26-inch HD+ display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It has a resolution of 720 by 1520 pixels which give 269 PPI. The gradient finish of the Redmi Y3 is fantastic and contributes majorly to the overall looks of the phone.
On another hand, Redmi Note 7 has a 6.3-inch FHD+ Display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection on front and back of the phone. It is something very unusual for a phone under 10,000. It has a resolution of 1080 by 2340 pixels which give 409 PPI. Gorilla Glass 5 also adds to the overall build quality and design of the Redmi Note 7. When it comes to core hardware, the Redmi Note 7 is a seemingly better phone when compared to the Redmi Y3. The Redmi Note 7 is powered by Snapdragon 660 SoC while the Redmi Y3 comes with Snapdragon 632 SoC. So, if performance matters to you more the Redmi Note 7 makes more sense. Redmi Note 7 has a better GPU than Redmi Y3, so gaming performance will be better in Redmi Note 7.
The battery capacity of the Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Y3 is the same. Both the phones come with a 4000mAh battery cell. The battery life of both phones is good. In a single charge, the phone shall last more than a day for a moderate user.

The Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Y3 rear camera module is similar. Both the phones come with a 12-megapixel primary camera sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor for depth sensing. The big difference is in the front camera setup. The Redmi Note 7 includes a 13-megapixel camera on the front for clicking selfies. In comparison, the Redmi Y3 comes with a 32-megapixel selfie camera sensor. This feature is usually found in more expensive phones, but Redmi Y3 brings this feature in budget price. This is the only region where Redmi Y3 beats the Redmi Note 7. However, the front camera on Redmi Note 7 is no slouch either.

After the comparison, Redmi Note 7 is definitely the better choice. Redmi Y3 is strictly for people who are looking for a great selfie camera. Redmi Y3 also has a triple slot which can store 2 SIMs and a Micro-SD card at the same time. Whereas Redmi Note 7 has hybrid sim slots which can store either 1 SIM 1 Micro-SD or 2 SIMs at a time.
