Samsung is one of the few companies that make chips for smartphones. And for those who don’t know, the answer is Yes! Samsung makes its processors, namely the Exynos chipsets. Samsung Exynos 1080
There are very few chips in the market that are based on 5nm processing units. After Apple’s A14, and Huawei’s Kirin 9000, now Samsung is coming with its 5nm based processor, which is Samsung Exynos 1080. Samsung earlier teased in a video this year that new chipset from Samsung called Exynos 1080 will be a 5nm based processor. Moreover, it will be featuring 4x Cortex-A78 large cores and 4x Cortex-A55 small cores coupled up with Mali-G78 GPU. It is the world’s first 5nm based A78 flagship processor.
As per the sources, the running score of Samsung Exynos 1080 on Antutu benchmarking is 693,600, and the CPU score is 181,099, and the GPU score is 297,676. Moreover, it’s MEM scored 297,676 and UX score is 99,656. However, one fun fact is that recently announced Huawei’s Kirin 9000 was also announced and it scored 721,462 running on Huawei Mate 40 Pro. Talking a bit more about this processor, Samsung says that the Exynos 1080 is customised for the Chinese market. Also, the related products are expected to go on sale in Q4. the domestic unsurprisingly should be Vivo’s debut, after all, the previous Exynos 990 in cooperation with Samsung.
Today, Samsung announced on its official Weibo page that the new processor in the Exynos series called Exynos 1080 would be released on 12 November. Also, Samsung Exynos’ official micro-blogging announced the news in the morning. It will be the first Samsung Exynos domestic offline conference. It will be held on 12 November and will be the official release of the Exynos 1080 processor.
