So, the Playstation 5 will have a new controller. There are two major changes. First, the new haptic feedback and the second is adaptive triggers. Let’s first talk about haptic feedback. The PS5 will use haptic feedback instead of the rumble. Sony will allow game developers to programme more sensitive feedback. With the new haptic feedback, you will feel a broader range of feedback. Mr Jim Ryan said, “Crashing into a wall in a race car feels much different than making a tackle on the football field. You can even get a sense for a variety of textures when running through fields of grass or plodding through mud.” So, the gameplay is going to be very interesting with the help of this haptic feedback.

Adaptive triggers will replace the static R2/L2 trigger buttons. Game developers will be able to program the resistance of the Adaptive triggers, this will result in different tactile sensations for different situations. In short, the adaptive triggers will change feedback depending on the in-game moment. Game developers have started receiving the new controller so that they can programme the new adaptive triggers.
