India has its own Unified Payments Interface(UPI), which is used for doing real-time payments. It allows its users to pay to merchants directly from their bank accounts or send and receive money directly from bank accounts. The National Payment Corporation of India(NPCI) has tweeted and made an announcement that for few days its UPI services will not be working reliably between 1:00 AM to 3:00 AM. And they also mentioned the reason that they have planned the upgrade process for the next few days. Moreover, they asked everyone to plan their payments accordingly.
NPCI is upgrading it to enhance the security layers and make payments more secured by seeking a multi-layered defense approach.
To create a better architecture for the growth of UPI transactions, the UPI platform will be under an upgradation process for next few days from 1AM – 3AM. Users may face inconvenience, so we urge you all to plan your payments. pic.twitter.com/oZ5A8AWqAB
