Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp were down for almost 45 minutes on Friday night. Many WhatsApp users were unable to send and receive messages and some were not able to log in on WhatsApp Web from 10:40 PM. Users reported this problem on Twitter and used the hashtag #WhatsAppDown.
However, the company has not revealed the exact reason and said that it was a technical issue. More than 28,500 people reported issues with Instagram not working and over 34,127 users were facing problems with WhatsApp. Although, this is not the first time that the services have been impacted. In December 2020 also, WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook services went down for a few hours, before they were restored.
