From February 8, WhatsApp has announced changing its privacy policy and terms of service in order to share some information of its users with the parent company Facebook. Users are strongly opposing this move of WhatsApp and are switching to other messaging apps.

Now, the government is reportedly keeping a strong watch over all the moves of WhatsApp and it might ask the company to explain this step. As per a report by TOI, an official source said “We are collecting details,” when he was asked about WhatsApp changes. The new privacy policy terms allow WhatsApp to collect user data, including location, phone number, contacts list, and much more, and send it to Facebook. All the business chats will be shared with Facebook and it can use this information for personalized advertising and other business purposes.
