Zomato Partners with Indian Government to Deliver Street Food

Zomato is the app that delivers the food of your choice from your favorite restaurant at your doorstep. Recently, Prime Minister Narendra Modi introduced a scheme called Street Vendor’s AtmaNibhar Nidhi. Also, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs(MoHUA) entered into a memorandum of understanding along with Zomato to bring street food to its tech platform.

The scheme by PM called SVANidhi will be beneficial for all the street food vendors as it will take food vendors on the digital platform that will allow them to reach a wider range of audiences. Moreover in a statement, MoHUA said that initially with Zomato they the program by on-boarding 300 vendors spread around six cities namely – Nagpur, Patna, Bhopal, Ludhiana, Raipur, Vadodara.
