Realme has launched its first wired earphone Realme Buds in November last year along with the Realme U1. Realme Buds is very popular because of the sturdy build and design, very good sound quality, magnetic clamping mechanism on both earpiece and good feel and comfort. Now, Realme Buds 2 is launched in India along with the Realme 5 & 5 Pro. Realme Buds 2 Price is INR 599 which is one hundred more than the previous-gen buds and Realme Buds 2 sound quality is also improved. Is this the best earphone under 600 rupees? Let’s find out in this Realme Buds 2 Review article.

Realme Buds 2 Unboxing

In-the-box:

  • Earphone
  • 3 Ear tips: Small, Medium, Large
  • Cable Organizer

Do you remember that eye-catchy yellow box of Realme Buds 1? That looks cool, right! This time around Realme has gone with more minimal design and it comes in a white box with the product image on the box with the tagline is Feel The Real Bass is written below the Realme Buds 2. It suggests that Realme has improved the Bass quality compared to the previous one. On the backside of the box Key Highlights are mentioned. The highlights of this earphone are 11.2mm Bass boost driver, Built-in magnet, Dual anti-twining cable, and a Cable Organizer. Cabel organizer is something new this time, basically, you will get a strip in the box which helps to organize the cable of the earphone. Pretty nice stuff!

Design & Build Quality

Earpiece

Design and Build Quality was the strongest point of the Realme Buds. Realme Buds 2 continues its legacy in this department. Realme Buds 2 is a beautiful looking earphone. It looks and feels premium. The yellow accent retains which makes the Buds a bit more premium. The angular earbuds fit perfectly in the ear and total three- small, medium and large ear tips come in the box. Unlike the circular design of the Realme Buds 1, new-gen buds gone with a squarish or triangular shape and the earpiece is more angular than before. Also, there is some kind of textured finishing on the earpiece unlike the shiny material used in the Buds 1. The earpiece is made out of plastic but the plastic used here is good quality one and it feels premium.

Kevlar Wire

The 1m long braided wire is coated with the Kevlar Fibre Material which is something not common in this price range. The braided cable adds durability and also it is tangle-free. To make it completely tangle-free, Realme provides a cable organizer in the box. You can perfectly organize the cable with the help of that. It comes with a 3.5mm audio plug. Sorry in case your phone does not have the audio jack! The audio plug is not gold plated which is common at this price point.

In-Line Controls

The wire also comes with Three in-line control button and is also houses the microphone. The call quality via the earphone is very good. No complaints here. Previous-gen buds also have the in-line control buttons but they are very hard, and not at all tactile. You literally have to press the button hard to perform any action. But this time the problem is solved! The buttons present on the Realme Buds 2 are a more tactile and yellow sign on volume buttons makes it easy to identify the Plus and minus button. Honestly, I am loving the color combination and details to the design.

Realme Buds 2 Sound Quality

Let’s now come to the sound quality. The sound quality of previous-gen Realme Buds was very good if not the best. However, the Bass level of the first-gen buds was slightly on the lower side. Realme Buds 1 is not good at all for the heavy Bass Lover. Now, Realme Buds 2 is here and in our brief usage we tried listening to songs from several genres and the music output was exceptionally good. From Hip-hop to Bollywood songs we like the sound quality in almost all the genres. Especially in the Bass side, realme Buds 2 is performing a lot better, and distortion-free music.

The 11.2mm driver helps to increase the bass level compared to the previous-gen buds and we really like the Bass level. Still, it is not the best earphone if we look at the bass quality. The sound quality of the Realme Buds 1 was very balanced and the same thing goes with the Realme Buds 2 as well. If you’re a normal user and love to listen to the songs of different genres then this earphone will not disappoint you. We used this earphone while gaming and the sound output was very good, especially while playing PUBG we were able to identify the footsteps and other sounds as well. In short Realme Buds, 2 Sound Quality is very good if not the best.

Verdict: Is This the Best Earphone Under 600 Rupees?

Let’s now conclude the things. First of all the design and build quality of the Buds is superior. We would say it is the best-looking earphone with the great build quality at this price point. The earpiece fits perfectly in ear and it feels comfortable to use. Also, the magnet in each bud is a nifty feature. The sound quality is also improved a lot compared to the previous-gen buds. No complaint here. But in case you are a heavy bass lover then Reame Buds 2 is not a perfect choice for you. Other than this it is one of the best earphones at this price point which looks premium and the sound quality is also very good.
