Oppo has officially announced their new ColorOS 12 based on Android 12 for their smartphones. ColorOS 12 is going to be different from the previous ColorOS 11 in terms of design and features. Borderless Design

ColorOS 12 is going to come with some changes to its overall UI look, in China, they call it borderless Design. They are not going to use the line separation. The new icons in the ColorOS 12 are called Acrylic Icons. Primary and Secondary information is now going to be shown in different colors to be separated in a more distinguished way.

Omoji

Oppo is going to introduced their AR emoji called Omoji which you can use to make your chats more interesting. You will be able to customize Omoji to create a personalized avatar. You can share these stickers with your friends and will be able to use them as animated stickers on Always-on Display. Omoji will capture the facial expressions that you can use during the video call with your friends and family.

Smart Slider 2.0

The Smart Slider is also getting an update, six more new tools that can be used by pulling up from the side of the phone. Some of the tools were showcased by Oppo like, if you come across any music on the web you will be able to open it in the Music Player app immediately. You will be also able to compare the prices of products while shopping from different websites.

Cross-Screen Connection

Cross-Screen Connection is going to be the biggest feature of the ColorOS 12. It allows you to use your phone from your PC and share files between phone and PC more easily and blazingly fast. You will be able to edit documents from your PC that are store on your Oppo phone. Oppo says this will work in most Windows 12 devices.

Privacy Features

ColorOS 12 is going to use all Android 12 privacy features. If any app is using your smartphone’s microphone, camera, and location without your knowledge you will be informed with an indicator on the status bar of your screen. You will be able to send the approximate location of yourself instead of the precise location. There is a permission manager that you can use to see which apps are using a microphone, camera, and location. While sharing any image or video you will be able to remove any private information like location, date, etc which you don’t want to share.
