The recent update on Microsoft Edge has brought an interesting productivity-oriented feature. Using the Microsoft Edge Drop feature, you can store and share files to multiple devices. However, this feature is currently in the testing phase, only available in Edge’s canary version[Beta]. The idea behind drop is to give users an option for cross-platform storing and sharing of various contents.

Drop dedicates a side panel that can store it. You can easily just drag and drop and create the notes you want in the message box. Once synced, you will be able to access that file/note from any of your devices with Microsoft Edge. Basically, this feature copies the Telegram’s saved messages feature, where you get the dedicated space for storing anything you want inside the messenger.

How to Enable Microsoft Edge Drop Feature

This feature is currently only available for the canary Edge users. However, even if you are a canary Edge user, this feature is not enabled by default on your Edge. You can enable it by simply following the steps below:

  • Open Microsoft Edge.
  • Click on the three dots button you see in the top right corner of the app.
  • Click on the Settings option.
  • Then Head to the appearance tab from the left pane.
  • Now scroll down a bit. Here you will see an option called “Drop”.
  • You can turn it on.
  • Voilà! You have the Drop feature enabled on your Microsoft Edge.
