Every year a new version of Android is rolled out by Google and each version brings major improvements and UI enhancements. This time, Google is all set to officially unveil the Android 12 at the Google I/O conference. The official roll-out means that all the upcoming Android 12 Features would be publicly revealed by Google. Google Pixel phones would be the first to receive an Android 12 update and a stable version would eventually come to other smartphones also. Android 12 will come with a bunch of new features that enhance productivity and make Android easier to use. All three developer previews have been rolled out and lots of features came into our knowledge. All of them are listed below:-
- A colour reduction too will be added to let you reduce on-screen contrast.
- A feature called App Pairs will be added that could be an upgrade over the split-screen.
- More app icons can be added to the home screen by shrinking the existing ones.
- You will now be able to block apps from using your camera, microphone and clipboard.
- The notification menu is being fully redesigned.
- The one-handed mode would be improved.
- Enabling sharing of Wifi passwords between two devices, both running on Android 12.
- A cleaner lock-screen, with a big watch displayed at the centre.
- The dark theme will be slightly on the grey side.
- The notification panel will get a new opaque background mode. This would change the background as per the system theme.
- The animations and transitions, specially picture-in-picture will be made smoother.
- Performance and battery life improvements.
- Pixel-binning will be accessible to third-party apps also.
- App Hibernation could be added that will temporarily pause power-intensive apps when not in use.
- Back double-tap action will perform a specific task.
- New and improved haptics.
- Haptic feedback support will be added to USB-connected devices to offer an immersive gaming experience.
- Better image and video compression to save data.
- ‘Restricted Networking’ mode can be added that could allow only a specific range of apps to use the internet.
- Android 12 will be more customizable, particularly in choosing colour schemes for different apps.

Android 12 Release Date in India
Google I/O 2021 has been scheduled for May 18-20. This will probably be the first public Android 12 Beta that will confirm most of the leaks and unveil all the hidden features of Android 12. A stable Android 12 update is expected to be released by September. First, the latest version of Android will land on Pixel phones and then it will come to other brands as well. OnePlus and Samsung would be rolling out Android 12 sooner and then Mi/Redmi, Relame, Motorola will follow.
