Mobile Number Should Be Linked With Aadhaar Card To Get Covid Vaccine, Says Government

The government has already been started giving Covid-19 vaccination to frontline workers. But, to get any Covid-19 vaccination, the person will have to link their mobile number with their Aadhar card. As per a report by Hindu Businessline, the government has made it mandatory to link the Aadhaar card with the phone number. As per the government, it will help to keep a record of every person and vaccination.

According to RS Sharma, Chairman of the Empowered Group on Technology and Data Management, this process will help to keep a digital record of who has taken a vaccine and by whom and when. Other identification documents such as Voter ID cards will also be helpful in the process, but an Adhaar card would be the most reliable, says a government official to Economic Times. Moreover, the government has already created an application called the Co-Win to keep check on the storage of vaccines and who has already been taken the first shot of the vaccine.
