Privatization of 90 Railway Stations Considered By Government

Indian Railways the fourth largest network in the whole world started letting private companies run and operate certain stations in a public-private partnership (PPP) model. The main motive by the Indian Railway Stations Development Corporation (IRSDC) is expected for the development of a decades-old railway system. Indian railways have considered having private companies operate 90 train stations.

By letting private companies operate these railway stations it is determined that how best we can improve the security structure of these stations. A committee examining these details said that all the security and access control services should be kept out of the agreement with the private companies. SFM refers to the Station Facility Management that will come up following the agreement.
