On Monday, contract manufacturer Dixon Technologies India Ltd. had confirmed that its subsidiary firm, Padget Electronics has signed an agreement with Nokia. As per the agreement, Padget Electronics will manufacture smartphones for Nokia at its manufacturing plant in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. They have entered in partnership with HMD Global to manufacture smartphones on behalf of Nokia, said Dixon Technologies.
Atul Lall, Vice-Chairman and MD of Dixon Technologies Ltd. said that they are glad to be in this partnership. We will bring a wide range of smartphones for Indian users, he added. On the other hand, Anmeet Singh Kochhar, Vice President of HMD Global said that from now onwards, Nokia smartphones will be hundred per cent made in India. As per a report by Live Mint, in the next few years, the company is planning to produce 70-80 million smartphones per year in India.
