Google has announced to allow third-party developers to create custom Tiles for its Wear OS (operating system) for smartwatches in its latest blog post. Tiles were first introduced in 2019, which allows users to swipe among various watch faces and get information from different widgets. These tiles show info about weather, calendar notifications, stats like heart rate, SpO2 or anything else.
Third-party developers will use the Jetpack Tiles library that is now available in alpha. New tiles can be designed to track daily activity progress, quickly-starting a workout, restarting a recently played song, or sending a message to a favourite contact. This will make the overall user experience better.
