Oppo To Launch 5G Smartphones With Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and 765G

Oppo is all set to launch 5G smartphones powered by the recently announced Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 765G chipsets. During the annual Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit, the company has announced that Oppo will be one of the first brands to launch 5G smartphones with flagship Snapdragon 865 SoC in the year 2020. Also, the upcoming Reno 3 Pro which is going to release this month, will be powered by the Snapdragon 765G integrated-5G chipset.

Vice President of Oppo, Mr Alen Wu has announced that the Oppo Reno 3 will be equipped with recently announced Snapdragon 765G chipset. This SoC comes with an integrated-5G modem and supports dual-mode (SA/NSA) of 5G. Snapdragon 765G is built on 7nm architecture. This chipset also supports Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming technology. Reno 3 Pro will be company’s first dual-mode 5G smartphone. Oppo Reno 3 Pro will be just 7.7mm thick and it’ll pack a 4,250mAh battery. Some leaks suggest that it will have a 32MP selfie camera in the punch-hole and 60MP Quad rear camera setup. It is also rumoured to have a 90Hz refresh rate display. Oppo Reno 3 Pro 5G will be an affordable 5G smartphone. Redmi K30 is also going to use the same chipset.

Oppo will be using the latest and the greatest Snapdragon 865 in their next flagship smartphone which will be launching in Q1 2020. They have also claimed that “Oppo will become one of the first companies to launch their flagship 5G smartphone powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Mobile Platform in the first quarter of 2020.” Snapdragon 865 comes with X55 5G modem and 5th Gen AI Engine. The new integrated ISP (Image Signal Processor) is capable to process 2 Gigapixels per second which allow shooting 8K 30FPS videos. There is also a 25% boost in graphics performance compared to last-gen flagship chipset.
