2. Use Your Phone App for Android File Transfer

Your Phone is a pre-installed software in Windows 10 and 11. It allows you to connect your phone to your PC and sync alerts, texts, calls, and photographs. You can project your phone's screen on your PC and drag-and-drop any file from your phone to your PC. (It's compatible with certain Samsung phones and the Surface Duo devices)

  1. On your Android phone, download Your Phone Companion - Link to Windows app.
  2. Launch Your Phone on your phone and PC and follow the on-screen instructions.
  3. After that, go to the Images section on your PC to access your phone's photos. It can only display the most recent 2,000 images. Save any of the photographs by right-clicking on them and selecting Save As.

3. Send Files through Email or Cloud Storage

I find these are the best way to transfer files from Android to PC online wirelessly.

Use cloud storage apps like Dropbox and Google Drive. Just upload the file from your phone and download it on your PC.

The email was the first and still one of the widely used modes of online file sharing between devices. Simply attach the image or document to an email on your phone and send it to yourself.

Then access that on your computer and download the file!

You can also use any chat app to do the same. I personally use WhatsApp to quickly get the images on PC from my phone. Give it a try!

4. Transfer Files from Android to PC Using Wi-Fi (FTP Server)

You need to download Solid Explorer File Manager on your phone to access your Windows local network. Google Play has a plethora of different file managers to choose from. The file manager should have an FTP Server feature.

  1. In Solid Explorer File Manager, tap the three-bar menu button, and click FTP Server under the Toolbox section.
  2. Connect your Android phone to Wi-Fi. To activate the server, tap Start, then type the server URL into your PC's web browser (make sure your PC is configured for FTP servers). Now your Android device's folder structure will be browsable. Locate the files you wish to have on your computer here.
  1. Right-click on the file and choose Copy To Folder. Select the location on your PC and click OK.
