Oxford Language names “Aatmanirbharta” becomes Word of the Year in Hindi 2020

Oxford languages have named “Aatmanirbharta” means self-reliance word of the year 2020 ’cause it has helped Indian to achieve and survive through the pandemic. The word is chosen by the language experts Kritika Agarwal, Poonam Nigam, and Imogen Foxell.  After the Prime Minister addresses “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” there was a massive increase in the use of the word “Aatmanirbhar”.

One of the standouts of this campaign was the manufacturing of the COVID-19 vaccine in India. During the Republic Day Parade, the Department of Biotechnology has highlighted that the “Aatmanirbhar” Bharat campaign has showcased the Covid-19 vaccine development process. Oxford University Press India managing director Sivaramarkrishnan Venkateswaran said, “In an unprecedented year, ‘Aatmanirbharta’ found resonance with a wide cross-section of people as it is seen to be an answer to the revival of a COVID-impacted economy.”
