The Realme GT2 Pro is the latest flagship smartphone by Realme, and it comes with a lot of changes. Among the multiple features that the phone comes with, the camera takes all the attention of the users and consumers. The expectations from a flagship smartphone are always high. It is supposed to be a top-of-the-line device with multiple interactive features.
Multiple flagships come with good camera modules, like the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, or the iPhone 13 Pro Max. These smartphones have exceptional camera performance among the other features. Smartphone cameras are taking bigger leaps with every version, and this time the Realme GT2 Pro Camera has come up with something new.
Today, we compare the latest Realme GT2 Pro with the camera of Iqoo 9 Pro. The Realme GT2 Pro vs Iqoo 9 Pro on the camera front, here is what we saw.
Realme GT2 Pro Camera Specifications
Like most other flagships, the Realme GT2 Pro comes with a triple camera setup on the back. It might look like a very common configuration, but there is a catch, and we will get back to it in some time. To start with, the module has a 50-megapixel primary camera with f/1.8 aperture. It is a wide angle lens and makes images taken in daylight or bright indoor light look good. This lens also comes with Optical Image Stabilization for better and more stabilized video recording.
Accompanying the primary camera, there is the 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera with a 150-degree field of view. It has an aperture of f/2.2 providing good and vibrant ultra-wide images. It is a little unusual to see an ultra-wide camera with 50-megapixel, and it also works very well. The last of the three lenses is the most interesting one. The third lens in the camera module is unique. We mostly see a macro or a depth sensor, but the Realme GT2 Pro camera has a microscopic lens for the third lens.
This lens takes macrophotography to another level. The lens has a default 20x zoom, which can be increased to 40x zoom. This brings you extremely close to the subject of your image. Images taken from this lens can even confuse a third person about what the subject is. This camera is a breath of fresh air for all the photography enthusiasts out there.
Iqoo 9 Pro Camera Specifications
As mentioned above, most flagships nowadays have a triple camera setup. The Iqoo 9 Pro is no different. It also comes with a triple camera setup with a 50-megapixel primary wide angle lens with f/1.8 aperture. This is supported by the 16-megapixel telephoto camera with f/2.2 aperture. The third camera in this setup is the 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera with 150-degree field of view.
The camera specifications on both the phones are very similar to each other. How much does the performance differ? We will have to look at that.
Verdict
The camera module and hardware look very different on both the phones. The Realme Gt2 Pro has a subtle camera module with the triple camera setup. On the other hand, the Iqoo 9 Pro has an aggressive camera module that spreads to the entire top side of the back of the phone.
The primary 50-megapixel lens has mixed results. The landscape performance of the lens can confuse a lot of people. If you are taking images in broad daylight, the images come out crisp. The images coming out can seem oversaturated. This is common with colours like Green and Yellow. If you are taking a portrait image of a person, it might seem washed out. The background blur washes out the image, and makes it look fake, or edited.
When it comes to the cameras on the Iqoo 9 Pro, the images taken from the primary camera look extra warm sometimes, but mostly does a good job in outdoor conditions. The performance of the ultra-wide camera is very similar to the primary camera. The colours and the results look very similar, except for more frame size. We did not have a lot of hopes from the macro lens, but it surprises the users. The images are detailed, and the focus in the image stays on the subject.
The ultra-wide camera has an added option of the fish eye effect. Even the Realme GT2 Pro has that feature, and the performance can be seen by you in the camera samples.
The phones differ on the front camera front too. The iQoo 9 Pro comes with a 16-mgepixel front camera, whereas the Realme GT2 Pro comes with a 32-megapixel selfie shooter. The results in the images are not very different. The details look sharp, and the colours also look close to accurate. There are no major differences in the selfie performance of both the phones. Both phones come with 1080p video recording via the front camera. None of them support the 4K video recording.
Apart from that, both cameras have Optical Image Stabilization, along with Electronic Image Stabilization for video recording.
