Reliance Jio Becomes Biggest Buyer in Spectrum Auctions

Spectrum Auctions has already been ended. Reliance Jio has made the biggest bid in the Spectrum Auctions. As per Telecom Ministry, Reliance Jio has taken 488.35 MHz radiowaves worth Rs 57,122.65 crore. Besides, Bharti Airtel has taken 355.45 MHz radiowaves worth Rs. 18,699 crore. On the other hand, Vi has bought an 11.80 MHz spectrum worth Rs. 1,993.40 crore.

Telecom companies have bought a total of 855.60 MHz spectrum worth Rs 77,814 crore. As per the government, they will receive a revenue between Rs. 19,000 to Rs. 20,000 crore in the financial year 2021. Government officials said we can expect improvement in network connectivity in future after seeing these kinds of deals. According to the government, they had received bids in 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800MHz, 2100 MHz and 2300 MHz.
