There is a huge number of apps on the Play Store, which tend to be very harmful to their users. However, Google is taking protective measures to prevent user data from leaking or being misused. Now, Google has removed apps from Play Store, which were harmful. As of now, 38 malicious apps removed from the Google Play Store due to their dangerous connections or policies. According to reports, Google removes malicious apps from the Play Store if the app is not able to fulfil the Privacy & Policy criteria of the Play Store. These apps were first identified by White Ops Security. According to the cybersecurity firm, these 38 apps bombard phones with different irrelevant apps and try to open unsafe links in web browsers. Most of the apps on the list were selfie cameras and filters. White Ops sent the report about these apps, and Google took swift action by removing these apps. However, some of these apps were very harmful as they also used to prevent the user from uninstalling the app by hiding the icon.

According to White Ops, 17 of these apps had more than half a million downloads. These apps trick Google during the publishing process of Play Console. But they often send some malicious codes through update packages. After due consideration, Google removed apps from Play Store by taking reports from security companies like White Ops. Many of these 38 malicious apps stole important data from the users.
